Three Long Distance Travel Tips To Ease Business Travel
Hassles
Whether you're off on another business trip or preparing to battle hordes of holiday
travelers, it can help to have some long distance travel tips and tricks in your back
pocket:
|

Tops on Our List of Long Distance Travel Tips?
A Power Inverter
|
1) Use a power inverter to charge your
electronics.
A power inverter is a handy device that's tops on our list of long distance travel tips because it lets
you plug items like laptops, cell phones, DVD players, MP3s, and camcorders into the car's cigarette
lighter using their own power cord- - without dragging along a tangled mess of special adapters.
A 75-watt/ 115V power inverter costs about $30 at Radio Shack or Amazon. |
2) A
six-outlet electrical power strip. If you've got room in your carry-on luggage & know you'll be
spending several hours in an airport, pack a power strip. When people are clustered around those few
outlets at the gate, you can step in, wave the magic power strip, this is one of those long distance travel tips
that makes you an instant hero- - using a single outlet provides power for you and up to five other people,
too.
3) Turn your cell phone into a highly-portable GPS
navigational device. Depending on your service provider & type of phone, you have several
options. When I carried a very basic cell phone with Verizon, I subscribed to their voice- &
text-enabled navigational system for $10/month. Now that I have an iPhone, I use the free map app, but I miss
having audible cues when I'm driving alone in a big city. (I could spend up to $100 to pimp out my iPhone with
a full GPS from Magellan or TomTom, but I've got other plans for Santa this
year).
